Instructions on 'How to Vote'

To Vote for your favourites sayings, click in the checkbox next to each saying or phrase that you like. You can click in as many as you like, but once you have finished making your selection, you must click on the 'Submit your votes' button, otherwise your vote(s) will NOT be submitted. See the example list below.

Many of the sayings are on several pages, since they fit into several categories at once. If you have voted for a saying once and you see it again, you can vote for it again, and I will receive two votes for that saying. So if that's what you want, fine!

And please remember, you must select some phrases before you get the button. (Every week I get empty lists submitted.)

If you select a saying by mistake, clicking on the check box again will remove your selection. Or if you want to just start all over again, hit the 'Clear all boxes' button.

Sample

Below is a sample list so you can see what I am talking about.
(Note it does not send in any votes.)

Table explanation

The 'Tally' column shows the number of times that the saying on that line has been voted for. The 'Select Sayings' column shows the phrase itself, with the checkbox to the left of it for voting. Just under the saying there will often be a little line of explanation and if I haven't come up with one you will see a "~" instead. The lists are ordered by the number of votes, with only the first tally number for a group of phrases been shown. (no duplicate numbers shown)

For the 'Recent Movers' and 'Long Forgotten' lists, a date column will appear, to the left of the Tally column. This shows the last time anyone voted for that phrase. For these lists, the phrases are ordered by date and then the number of votes.
